The FUNCY-SSB project will develop sustainable, high-performance solid-state electrolytes (SSE) to address a clear need in battery research and development. By employing a synergistic combination of sulfide electrolytes and polymer coatings, the project aims to create solid-state electrolytes with enhanced electrochemical performance.
The use of semantic technologies for digitalizing synthesis and manufacturing processes will improve interoperability and accelerate development. Additionally, recycling studies and analyses of economic and ecological potential will focus on the recyclability and sustainability of the SSEs. A pouch cell prototype will demonstrate the functionality of the FUNCY-SSB electrolyte. These advancements will promote the use of solid-state Li-ion batteries in transportation, and the project results will significantly impact the availability of components for future batteries.
Sustainable and high-performance SSEs contribute to improved safety, sustainability, processability, recyclability, and both chemical and electrochemical stability.
