University of Oslo

The main research focus of University of Oslo is to develop fundamental understanding of materials chemistry with particular emphasis on materials for energy applications.

The Battery Group  develops materials for multiple battery chemistries helping to enable new technologies and approaches. Operando studies of battery materials represent a special expertise in the group, which allows to study the reaction mechanisms in batteries during electrochemical cycling. This research enables not only design and further improvement of battery materials but also determination of degradation pathways in batteries.

Within the FUNCY-SSB project, the University of Oslo contributes with the expertise in the materials synthesis, characterization and electrochemistry.
