NIC has a state-of-the-art laboratory for electrochemical evaluation of lab type and prototype battery cells under different relevant conditions.

Based on these assessments, the cell materials and configurations are optimized to provide the best performance. Through an iterative process, new concepts and devices are pushed to their optimum. The obtained know-how is paramount for developing other electrolyte systems and can help advance other battery cell chemistries.

NIC contributes to FUNCY-SSB with polymer coating knowledge, electrochemical characterization of the developed materials and complimentary chemical and morphological analyses.
